Description

This Chipped Beef Cheese Ball recipe is a creamy, flavorful appetizer perfect for parties and holiday gatherings. Made with softened cream cheese and finely chopped dried beef, seasoned with Worcestershire sauce and spices, then coated with chopped pecans for a delightful crunch. Easy to prepare with no cooking required, it’s a crowd-pleaser served chilled alongside crackers, pretzels, or fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 jar (2.5 ounces) dried beef, rinsed, dried, and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Coating (optional)

  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or additional chopped dried beef

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the softened cream cheese, finely chopped dried beef, chopped green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape Cheese Ball: Using clean hands or a spatula, shape the mixture into a ball. Then roll the cheese ball in chopped pecans or additional chopped dried beef to coat the outside if desired.
  3. Chill: Wrap the cheese ball tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese ball to firm up.
  4. Serve: Unwrap the cheese ball and place it on a serving platter. Serve chilled or at cool room temperature with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • To ease mixing, let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before preparing.
  • This cheese ball can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
  • For added heat, incorporate a few dashes of hot sauce or finely diced jalapeños into the cheese mixture.
