Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Sauce
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup dry white wine (or additional chicken broth)
- 1 (4 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (0.7 oz) packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
- 1 tablespoon butter
Pasta and Garnish
- 8 oz angel hair pasta, cooked according to package directions
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Grease the bottom of your slow cooker to prevent sticking and place the chicken breasts evenly inside.
- Make the Sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, dry white wine, softened cream cheese, Italian dressing seasoning mix, and butter until the mixture is mostly smooth with no large lumps of cream cheese remaining.
- Combine and Cook: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Cover the cooker with the lid and cook on low heat for 4 to 5 hours, or on high heat for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked through and tender.
- Shred or Serve Chicken: Carefully remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker. You may shred the chicken with forks for easier serving or leave the breasts whole according to your preference. Stir the sauce in the slow cooker well to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Serve: Spoon the cooked angel hair pasta onto plates and top with the cooked chicken breasts. Generously ladle the creamy sauce over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
Notes
- Substitute chicken thighs for a more flavorful and tender option.
- Use full-fat cream cheese for an even richer sauce.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with a crisp side salad or steamed vegetables for a well-rounded meal.
