- 1 tablespoon sea salt (divided)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Optional: extra lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
- Boil water: Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. Add ½ tablespoon of sea salt to flavor the water.
- Cook edamame: Add edamame pods to the boiling water and cook for 4–5 minutes if fresh, or 5–6 minutes if frozen, until they are tender yet maintain a bright green color.
- Drain and season: Drain the edamame and transfer them to a large bowl. While still hot, toss with the remaining ½ tablespoon sea salt, fresh lemon juice, and lemon zest until the pods are well coated with seasoning.
- Serve: Serve the edamame warm or at room temperature. Offer extra lemon wedges on the side for added citrus flavor if desired.
Notes
- To eat, gently squeeze the pods to pop the beans out.
- For extra flavor, consider sprinkling with chili flakes or drizzling with sesame oil.
