Description

Pot Roast Beef Philly Cheese Steak Dip is a creamy, savory appetizer featuring tender shredded pot roast beef mixed with melted provolone and cream cheese, sautéed peppers and onions, and seasoned with garlic and beef broth. Perfect for game days or parties, this warm dip pairs excellently with chips, bread, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef

  • 2 cups tender shredded pot roast beef (preferably slow-cooked)

Cheese & Dairy

  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (1 package)

Vegetables

  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Liquids & Seasonings

  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or cooking oil for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: Shred the pot roast beef, ideally slow-cooked until fork-tender. If using fresh roast, cook until tender and then shred finely to prepare for the dip.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and green bell pepper and sauté for 8-10 minutes until they are caramelized and soft. Add the minced garlic during the last minute and cook until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.
  3. Combine the Ingredients: Add the shredded beef to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir in the softened cream cheese, shredded provolone cheese, and beef broth. Lower the heat and cook on low, stirring constantly, until the cheeses melt completely and the mixture becomes creamy and well combined.
  4. Season and Blend: Season the dip with salt and black pepper according to your taste. If the dip is too thick, gradually add more beef broth until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Serve Warm: Transfer the dip to a serving dish or keep it warm directly in the skillet. Serve immediately with chips, sliced bread, or vegetable sticks for dipping.

Notes

  • For best flavor, use leftover slow-cooked pot roast beef.
  • Adjust seasoning carefully since beef broth and cheeses can be salty.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly.
  • Keep the dip warm while serving to maintain a creamy texture.
  • Try different cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar for variation.
