- 1 package of plant-based ground meat
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wraps and Toppings
- 4 large tortilla wraps
- 4 slices of vegan cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
- 1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons mustard
Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant to build the flavor base.
- Cook Plant-Based Meat: Add plant-based ground meat to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook, allowing it to brown for 5-7 minutes. Stir in soy sauce or tamari, tomato paste, vegan Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and cook an additional 2-3 minutes to combine flavors. Set aside the filling.
- Prepare Tortillas: Lay tortillas flat or briefly heat them for 10-15 seconds in a skillet or microwave to make them more pliable for wrapping.
- Assemble Wraps: Spread a thin layer of vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on each tortilla. Place a slice of vegan cheddar cheese on top, then add a generous scoop of the prepared plant-based filling. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles.
- Wrap and Grill (Optional): Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and roll it from the bottom up to fully enclose the filling. For a crispy finish, grill the wraps in a skillet for 2-3 minutes until the outside is golden and the cheese melts slightly.
