Description

Delicious and hearty Vegan Cheeseburger Wraps featuring plant-based ground meat, vibrant fresh veggies, and a trio of tangy sauces all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Perfect for a quick, satisfying, and cruelty-free meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 1 package of plant-based ground meat
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wraps and Toppings

  • 4 large tortilla wraps
  • 4 slices of vegan cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced
  • 1/4 cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant to build the flavor base.
  2. Cook Plant-Based Meat: Add plant-based ground meat to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook, allowing it to brown for 5-7 minutes. Stir in soy sauce or tamari, tomato paste, vegan Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and cook an additional 2-3 minutes to combine flavors. Set aside the filling.
  3. Prepare Tortillas: Lay tortillas flat or briefly heat them for 10-15 seconds in a skillet or microwave to make them more pliable for wrapping.
  4. Assemble Wraps: Spread a thin layer of vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard on each tortilla. Place a slice of vegan cheddar cheese on top, then add a generous scoop of the prepared plant-based filling. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles.
  5. Wrap and Grill (Optional): Fold the sides of the tortilla over the filling and roll it from the bottom up to fully enclose the filling. For a crispy finish, grill the wraps in a skillet for 2-3 minutes until the outside is golden and the cheese melts slightly.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute any plant-based ground meat brand you prefer.
  • Grilling the wraps is optional but adds a nice texture and melts the vegan cheese.
  • You can add avocado slices or vegan sour cream for extra creaminess.
  • For gluten-free options, use gluten-free tortilla wraps and check soy sauce ingredients.
  • Adjust seasoning according to taste, especially salt and smoked paprika.
